The Coyote Buttes Bowl is a fruit bowl designed using three specified
materials polystyrene (thickness 1.5mm), aluminum (thickness 1.5mm) and triplex (thickness 3 - 3.2mm).
The fruit bowl is based on sheet material with a size of max. 0.25m² of each material.
It consists of eight layers, there are three main layers of which the cut parts are always reused as an individual layer.
For aesthetics, I went for a fruit bowl with a luxurious, modern yet organic look that blends into the interior.
The fruit bowl’s name comes from the Coyote Buttes wilderness area that is part of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness area.
I used this area in my mood board.
The area includes dramatic swirling erosion rock formations. This is where I got my inspiration for the design of the fruit bowl.
